What to Wear to a Game
Major league baseball games tend to be long — which means that weather conditions could change drastically throughout the game. Follow the tips below to ensure you enjoy the game, no matter what Mother Nature has in store.
- Layer your clothing. During a long game, temperatures could change drastically. Be prepared by layering clothing or bringing extra layers along.
- Don't forget the rain gear. Umbrellas usually aren't permitted in stadiums. Bring along a rain poncho, waterproof clothing, or even a garbage bag, to stay dry in case of rain.
- Put on a baseball cap. Besides toting team gear on your head, a baseball cap will help protect against sun on your face and neck, as well as wild hair in the case of rain, humidity or wind.
- Slather on the sunscreen. Protect against UV rays by applying sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher to your entire body. Reapply it every two hours. Remember to apply sunscreen even on cloudy days.
- Bring along the sunglasses. Don't lose a game-winning home run in the glare of the sun. Bring along sunglasses to shield the sun, as well as protect your eyes from UV rays.
- Don't forget the baseball glove. This will make it easier to catch foul balls and home runs!
