The upper-level disturbance continues to churn above Ontario and Quebec, and it is bringing enough cold air and volatility into the atmosphere that we have a risk of thunderstorms tonight. Eastern Ontario is particularly affected by this but there is also the risk in South Central Ontario and the Nickelbelt. Watch for the possibility of localized heavy downpours, small hail and up to 70 km/hr winds during any of these storms. It`s quite likely that the city of Toronto will escape the worst of the storm activity. The good news is, things are improving, especially in the corridor between Windsor and Kingston. Tomorrow, these areas will hang onto cloud cover, however the low pressure system will start to progress ever so slowly out of our area. By Saturday we will enjoy clear skies and abundant sunshine, but temperatures will be just a bit below seasonal. That trend will continue for this area for the next 4 or 5 days. However for Kingston up through the Ottawa Valley, look for things to remain unsettled right through the weekend, with the possibilty of showers and overcast conditions. Thunderstorms will continue to be possible in Eastern Ontario tomorrow afternoon and evening as well.
