Clouds will be on the increase Tuesday ahead of another strong winter storm passing to by to our south. This storm is taking a track further north than the huge blizzard last weekend. I think far southwestern Ontario will see almost 20cm of snow with much lesser amounts around the GTA where only 2-5cm are forecast. The snow will begin in Windsor early in the morning and reach Toronto by late evening. Wednesday mornings commute will be a slow one with snow and blowing snow reducing visibility and making roadways slippery. Skies will clear out on Thursday as the storm shifts off the east coast. Another 30 to 60 centimetres of snow is expected in the hardest hit areas from the last storm. Total accumulations for the week will exceed a metre in Washington DC and Philadelphia.
Other than the few centimetres we see on Wednesday, our weather pattern will remain rather benign through next weekend with temperatures hovering just below normal for mid February. |
